CALLING ALL Lingles and Dentons!

The Problem:

Clean, safe water is the #1 need of the global poor.

In poor nations around the world, some 3,900 children die each day from diseases carried by unsafe drinking water. All told, some 1.1 billion people lack access to safe drinking water, and a total of 2.6 billion lack adequate water for sanitation.

The good news is that it’s a problem that we know how to solve – building water wells, fixing existing wells, creating water filters, catches, and pumps.

Good News! GLOBAL FAST wants to help us! Here's how it works.... you fast one meal each week and donate the $5 you would have spent. GF passes along 100% of your fasting gift to an highly sustainable charity called, Generosity Water.  Our money is then used to build a well in a poverty stricken community, giving clean water to 1,000 people! 

The Challenge: 

To save 2,000 lives by building 4 wells this summer!

The Lingles and Dentons (both large and loving) will compete against each other in a head to head race to each save 1,000 lives.  

Each team must have a minimum of 20 PEOPLE to win (totally feasible)!!!  You will be responsible for encouraging your family members to join the fast... It's super easy-- You're only giving up ONE meal a week! Just pass on a Starbucks latte, a Subway sandwich, or a BigMac and save lives!

Once you've signed up, let your family know!!

We will use THIS BLOG to encourage, support, and hold each other accountable.  So, feel free to post notes such as:

"Look out Lingles! I'm going hungry during lunch today and saving lives... How's that Cheeseburger? Have you fasted yet this week?" 

OR

"Hey Dentons! I just signed up on globalfast.org! We only need 4 more people to save 1,000 lives! Hurry!"
